Starting New Churches
Healthy things reproduce. Healthy plants spawn new plants. Healthy animals produce new animals. Healthy humans conceive and give birth to new humans.
The same is true of God’s people. Healthy followers of Jesus make new followers. Healthy house churches start new house churches. Healthy churches start new churches.
Storyline Christian Community is therefore not an end in itself. This community of faith is committed to participating in a movement much larger than itself—a movement that has city-wide, state-wide, national and global implications. It’s a movement in which a whole new generation of churches is coming into being, churches that live their lives in reference to God’s storyline.
Because of this commitment, Storyline has already begun to save its financial resources for the sake of starting new churches (that will, in turn, start new churches themselves). Within the next few years, Storyline will work in partnership with Mission Alive, a resourcing organization for starting new churches, to start the first new church.
